Logitech M170 Wireless Mouse
The Logitech M170 Wireless Mouse was launched to be the new and most affordable entry level mouse ever launched by Logitech.
Behind its rather simple design hides days, if not weeks, of brainstorming to achieve a competitive cost in order to bring the mouse to market at a very competitive price.
Among other innovations to optimize the cost without impacting the experience, Logitech M170 is the first Logitech wireless mouse to be made of only 3 plastic parts: the keyplate, the bottom case, and the battery door. It uses a mechanical encoder for the scrolling wheel instead of the common optical encoder found in other Logitech mouse, and the wheel itself is made of hard plastic with triangle patterns instead of the usual rubber tyre around a hard plastic core found in most other mice. Finally, it is probably the only mouse that comes with no printed markings. The logo is debossed within the plastic and the compliance information is laser-etched on the bottom.
For the first time, we implemented a new texture to our rubber feet to give an even better gliding experience than mice at a higher price points.

Logitech M275 Wireless Mouse
Soon after the launch of Logitech M280 and Logitech M320, we launched a more affordable version of the same mouse, mainly to be more competitive in emerging markets and more specifically online, in China.
The Logitech M275 Wireless Mouse also offers 18-month battery life but doesn't have an all-around rubber top case like you will find on M280 and M320.
Logitech M320 Wireless Mouse
The Logitech M320 Wireless Mouse was M280's sister project. We launched the product in specific markets, more or less at the same time. The shape is the same, however we pushed the battery life to 24 months on one single AA-battery and added a beautiful paint on the keyplate.
It was awarded PC Mag Editor's Choice:
And it also won its own design award, a 2015 iF Design Award
Logitech M280 Wireless Mouse
The M280 was my first project from conception to launch. Even though the product seems basic, we brought several great innovation at this price point.
The product has proven very successful on the market, well above our expectations. It was well reviewed from professionals and consumers alike.
- New sensor, capable of tracking more precisely on more surfaces, and consuming less energy
- 18-month battery life on one AA-battery
- Dual-injection top case with irregular patterns
- Wheel with mechanical encoder
The product has proven very successful on the market, well above our expectations. It was well reviewed from professionals and consumers alike.
The mouse was also well received among professional designers with the earning of the 2015 GOOD DESIGN™ Award
